Our entire organisation is built upon the talent and passion that is seen throughout our teams. These are just a few of the individuals that make up our incredible team.
I work within our medium secure unit. I enjoy the variety in my role, being able to support our service users in engaging in meaningful therapeutic and recreational activities suited to their own interests. Some days can be more challenging than others, but being a calm and empathetic person can really help in these situations.
The Trust is a great place to work and volunteer - I’ve been here for 22 years so it must be! I get to meet some great people with the same values as our Trust, always putting the person in the centre. It's great to see so many people volunteering with us which contributes to a more fulfilling experience for our service users. I support our volunteers to make sure they have a positive and meaningful experience.
I love the variety of my role. When colleagues and service users comment on the grounds it makes me so proud because I contributed to making it a safe and tidy environment. I also make sure post is delivered around our site as well as distributing meals to the wards for our service users. I haven't been here that long but I've been made to feel extremely welcome.
I work as a speech and language therapist, treating people who are experiencing feeding and swallowing difficulties. I chose this career because I love working with people and helping them achieve the best quality of life they can. I've worked in Barnsley for nearly 20 years and really enjoy engaging with the people here - staff and patients.
My role helps to make a difference to the nutritional care of service users.
The Trust is patient centred, my team is very supportive of my role and learning. No two days are the same and having autonomy over my own workload makes me feel valued as part of the team.
